Javelin — this is a classic diploid hybrid sugar beet with increased sugar content, intended for high yields and quality raw material. This variety is distinguished by resistance to major diseases such as root rot, cercosporosis, rhizomania, and root rot, ensuring stable production even under adverse agroclimatic conditions. The beet yield reaches 87.5 tons per hectare at 18.3% sugar content, making Javelin an attractive choice for farmers oriented towards sugar content. The recommended seeding rate is 1.4 seeding units per hectare, and the hybrid is suitable for early sowing and cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. The early-maturing Javelin variety has a vegetation period from emergence to technical maturity of 80–100 days. The beets are large, round, weighing from 400 to 700 grams, with smooth dark-red skin. The flesh has a dark-purple hue, is tender, juicy, and high in sugar content, with weak rings. Due to these qualities, the variety is valued for its stable yield, uniformity of beets, and good storage quality during winter. Javelin is recommended for early leafy production, expanding its application in agricultural production. Sugar beet Javelin is a warm-loving and heat-tolerant crop, optimally developing at 20–22°C, but capable of efficient photosynthesis even at temperatures above 40°C. From early growth stages, the plant requires adequate moisture, especially in July–August, when the root growth is intensive. Water deficiency may lead to increased nitrogen content in the beets, negatively affecting quality. Due to its well-developed root system capable of absorbing water from depths up to 2.5 meters, Javelin exhibits good drought resistance. Seeds germinate over a wide temperature range from +4 to +17°C, with emergence time depending on temperature. In autumn, the crop withstands frost down to -5°C without damaging sugar accumulation, allowing it to maintain harvest quality under adverse weather conditions.
