Description STUJA
Sugar beet variety STUJA is an important sugar-producing crop of the temperate zone, possessing high yield and sugar content potential. The root has a cylinder-cone shape with a relatively smooth surface, which facilitates harvesting and reduces soil adhesion. The average fruit weight is about 700 grams, and the vegetation period lasts up to 120 days, corresponding to average maturation times. The leaf rosette is semi-sprawling, the leaf blade is medium-sized, solid and moderately corrugated, dark green in color. The root system is taproot, penetrating to a depth of 2-2.5 meters, which contributes to the plant's resilience to drought and cold.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to major diseases such as cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and root rot, as well as to lodging. Thanks to these qualities, STUJA has good storability and is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. The sugar content of roots reaches 18-20%, making this variety in demand for sugar and molasses production.

In addition to technical use, sugar beet STUJA is widely used in cooking, for example, for preparing borscht and kvass. It also serves as a waste-free fodder crop: in 100 kg of roots there are 25 feed units and 1.2 kg of digestible protein, while the foliage provides 20 feed units and 2.2 kg of digestible protein. This makes the variety universal and economically beneficial for farmers and the food industry.
