MS FD 0704 is a sugar beet hybrid characterized by high drought and cold resistance. The plant forms a semi-loose rosette of leaves with a medium-sized, entire, and moderately corrugated leaf blade. The root system is taproot, penetrating up to 2-3 meters deep, which ensures good nutrition and resistance to adverse conditions. The vegetative period is up to 120 days. The root crop has a cylinder-conical shape, is deeply embedded in the soil, and has an average weight reaching 700 grams. The root crop surface is relatively smooth, reducing soil adhesion during harvest. The hybrid is resistant to diseases such as Cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and root rot. MS FD 0704 has a universal waste-free purpose: all parts of the plant are utilized. Root crops are used for sugar and molasses production, as well as in cooking—for making borscht and kvass. Additionally, processing by-products such as pulp, molasses, and defectate are of great significance: molasses is used in the production of alcohol, glycerin, citric acid, and yeast; defectate is used as fertilizer, and pulp as nutritious feed for pigs and cattle. Ethanol is also obtained from sugar beets, which can serve as alternative fuel. The MS FD 0704 hybrid belongs to late-sweetening sugar varieties, possesses high yield and sugar content. In the Central-Black Earth region, the average root crop yield reaches 435.8 centners per hectare with a sugar content of 19%, providing a sugar harvest of 83.1 centners per hectare. In the Ural region, the hybrid outperforms standard varieties in yield and sugar harvest, confirming its adaptability and high productivity under various climatic conditions.
