Description SR768
Sugar beet of the SR768 variety is a warm-loving and heat-tolerant crop, optimally developing at 20-22°C, but capable of effective photosynthesis even at temperatures above 40°C. Seeds germinate over a wide temperature range from +4 to 17°C, with emergence time directly depending on temperature, varying by 10-15 days. Due to its well-developed root system capable of absorbing moisture from depths of about 2.5 meters, the beet shows good drought resistance, although it especially requires water during the intensive root growth period in July-August. During the pre-harvest period, the crop withstands frosts down to -5°C without damage, but lower temperatures may halt sugar accumulation. The SR768 variety is medium-maturing, with a maturity period of about 120 days, allowing for mechanized harvesting. The root is elongated-cylindrical, weighing up to 700 grams, with a white color. The leaf rosette is of medium size, dark green, and the root is buried in the soil approximately 85%. Sugar beet of this variety is characterized by high yield and high sugar content, making it in demand for sugar production as well as for culinary purposes, such as making borscht and kvass. SR768 has resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew, root rot, and cercosporosis, as well as to adverse conditions including drought and cold snaps. The variety is characterized by good storability and resistance to cracking, ensuring harvest preservation during storage. Due to these qualities, sugar beet SR768 is a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions and provides a stable high yield.
