Sugar beet Scandic

Genetic Potential and the NZ Type

The «Scandic» sugar beet hybrid by Syngenta represents a strategic approach to sugar beet selection, focusing on the optimal balance between root yield and sucrose content. As a Normal-Sugar type (NZ), this hybrid is designed for high-intensity agricultural systems where the primary objective is to maximize the final sugar yield per hectare while maintaining robust root biomass.

Agronomic Solutions

The core advantage of NZ-type hybrids lies in their adaptability to varying soil and climatic conditions without compromising the internal quality of the raw material. The technical features integrated into «Scandic» allow farmers to mitigate risks associated with moisture fluctuations during the growing season. The physiological structure of the root ensures:

• Efficient sucrose accumulation without drastic trade-offs in overall productivity;
• Reliable tolerance to common pathogens, which is critical for maintaining optimal plant density until harvest;
• Excellent processing quality, facilitating logistics and efficient processing at sugar factories.

«Scandic» is a preferred choice for operations targeting consistent and predictable outcomes under standard mineral nutrition protocols. Thanks to Syngenta's breeding expertise, this hybrid effectively utilizes soil resources, converting them into marketable output with minimal losses during mechanized harvesting.
