Sugar beet RADOMIR

Stable Yields Under High Phytosanitary Pressure

Sugar beet «Radomir» from the German breeding company Strube is the preferred choice for agronomists operating in regions prone to high disease pressure. As a high-yielding type (E) hybrid, it is engineered for operations focusing on maximizing gross tonnage while adhering to intensive cultivation practices.

Pathological Resistance

The core strength of this hybrid lies in its genetic resistance to a broad spectrum of foliar and root diseases. In humid environments, where the threat of Cercospora leaf spot and powdery mildew is significant, Radomir shows exceptional tolerance. This trait allows producers to optimize fungicide programs while maintaining a healthy leaf canopy for maximum photosynthesis. Furthermore, its resistance to root rot significantly mitigates losses during harvest, storage, and transportation to processing facilities.

Agronomic Characteristics and Harvestability

• Type: High-yielding (E).
• Root shape: Cylindrical-conical.
• Size: Medium, designed for efficient mechanical harvesting.
• Adaptability: Consistent performance across diverse soil types.

Field Application: This hybrid is ideally suited for crop rotations with shorter intervals. The cylindrical-conical root shape ensures easy extraction from the soil, minimizing damage during mechanical harvesting. This feature is particularly valuable when harvest windows are constrained by weather conditions, ensuring high-quality, intact roots are delivered to the factory.
