Sugar beet Shannon

Stable Yields with Superior Sugar Content

The «Shannon» sugar beet hybrid by Lion Seeds is designed for farms that prioritize predictability. In modern agriculture, where pathogens are becoming increasingly aggressive, this hybrid demonstrates remarkable resistance to key threats, allowing farmers to reduce fungicide application costs.

Advanced Pathogen Protection

The key strength of Shannon lies in its genetic resistance to diseases that can otherwise decimate up to a third of a crop. The hybrid shows robust resistance to Rhizomania, the bane of beet-growing regions. Furthermore, the Lion Seeds genetics effectively manage pressure from Cercospora leaf spot and powdery mildew, keeping the leaf canopy healthy late into the season.

Root Economics

This hybrid is categorized as a high-sugar type. Depending on the soil fertility and seasonal climate conditions, sugar content ranges between 15% and 18%. This makes Shannon an ideal choice for processors who demand a high yield of refined product per ton of raw material.

• Biological Potential: The medium-sized root ensures an optimal balance between total mass and sugar accumulation quality.
• Agronomic Performance: The hybrid is perfectly suited for intensive cultivation, responding well to balanced fertilization programs.
• Reliability: The hybrid’s genetics are backed by Lion Seeds, developed through extensive testing across various soil and climatic zones.

Who is this hybrid for? Shannon is the perfect choice for agronomists operating in fields with high infection pressure. If your priority is obtaining consistently high sugar content without the need for excessive chemical interventions against fungal diseases, this Lion Seeds hybrid will serve as a cornerstone of your production cycle.
