The root has a conical shape with grooves, a white-green color, and weighs from 300 to 450 grams. The pulp is white and juicy, with a sugar content of 17-18%, making this variety highly effective for sugar and molasses production. Sowing is recommended at a depth of 6-7 cm when the soil temperature reaches 6-8 degrees Celsius. The plant is characterized by high drought and cold resistance, ensuring yield stability under various climatic conditions. The leaf rosette is semi-spreading, with medium-sized leaf blades that are moderately ruffled. The root system is taproot, penetrating to a depth of 2-3 meters, which promotes good nutrition and resistance to adverse factors. The root has a relatively smooth surface, which facilitates harvesting and reduces the amount of adhering soil. The variety is resistant to diseases such as Cercosporosis, Powdery Mildew, and Root Rot. POLL FD 0704 has a universal purpose: its roots are used for sugar and molasses production and in cooking, for example, for making borscht and kvass. Additionally, the beet is used as a fodder crop due to its high content of fodder units and digestible protein, both in the roots and in the foliage. 100 kg of roots contain 25 fodder units and 1.2 kg of digestible protein, while the same amount of foliage contains 20 fodder units and 2.2 kg of digestible protein, making this variety valuable for animal husbandry.
