The hybrid sunflower NS-H-6043 is a proven and highly effective variety from Serbian selection, characterized by a short growing period — from 104 to 108 days. This indicator allows farmers to harvest crops on time and prepare the soil for subsequent sowing of winter crops. Despite its relatively short growth period, the hybrid demonstrates stable and high yields, reaching a potential of about 45 centners/ha. Maximum yields were recorded in 2014 and 2015 in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, where yields amounted to 37.5 and 39 centners/ha respectively.
NS-H-6043 exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew and the fourth race of downy mildew, and also shows resistance to lodging, which contributes to yield preservation. Due to its parent lines, this hybrid is close to the well-known variety Tisa, which confirms its reliability and quality. For seed treatment, fungicides and microfertilizers are typically used, which further enhance plant resistance and productivity.
The hybrid NS-H-6043 is versatile in cultivation and suitable for various climatic zones of Ukraine, particularly preferring moist and swampy areas, which contributes to increased gross yield. After harvesting sunflowers, the soil where this hybrid was grown is ideally suited for sowing winter crops, making it a profitable choice for crop rotation and improving overall agricultural efficiency.
