Sugar beet MS 164

MS 164 is a sugar beet hybrid characterized by high sugar content at 18-19% and capable of yielding up to 870 centners per hectare. The root of this variety is large, fully buried in the soil, and has a relatively smooth surface, which significantly reduces sticking during harvest. The hybrid is resistant to diseases such as Cercospora, powdery mildew, and root rot, and is not affected by root nematode, which increases the reliability and quality of the harvest.

MS 164 is recommended for cultivation in the Polesye, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones, especially on soils with neutral or alkaline pH reaction. Due to its resistance to glyphosate, this hybrid allows for effective weed control, which improves growing conditions for plants. Sugar beets of this variety are an important sugar-producing crop of the temperate zone and can be used not only for sugar production but also as a fodder crop, providing a significant amount of feed units and digestible protein.

To successfully cultivate MS 164, deep plowing of the soil and application of organic fertilizers are recommended, which improves soil structure and plant nutrition. Sowing should be carried out at optimal soil temperature, ensuring good germination and root development. High sucrose content and disease resistance make this hybrid an attractive choice for farmers seeking a high-quality and high-yield product.
