LIVAGO — a hybrid of sugar beet intended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth and Middle Volga regions. This variety is distinguished by its high root crop yield, reaching 516.4 ц/га in the Central Black Earth region and 774.3 ц/га in the Middle Volga region. The sugar content in the root crops is 17.2% and 15.6% respectively, ensuring a high sugar harvest of 88.2 ц/га and 126.8 ц/га. The mass of one root crop varies from 614 g to 906 g depending on the growing region. The hybrid is characterized by very weak infection by diseases such as cercosporosis, root rots, powdery mildew, and root maggots, which enhances its resilience and reliability in terms of agronomy.
Sugar beet LIVAGO — a biennial root crop plant, forming an elongated root crop with firm white flesh and basal leaves forming a rosette in the first year. The main purpose of this crop is sugar production, however, it is also used for molasses, pulp, and feed production. All parts of the plant are utilized: sugar is used for food purposes, molasses is used in the production of alcohol, glycerin, citric acid, yeast, and organic acids, and defect is a valuable fertilizer. Pulp is a nutritious feed for farm animals, making the crop economically viable and ecologically rational.
Additionally, sugar beet contains important vitamins of groups B, PP, and C, as well as trace elements — iodine, magnesium, iron, copper, calcium, and phosphorus. Its composition includes bioflavonoids, pectins, and betaine, making it useful not only as raw material for sugar but also as a source of nutrients. The high yield and sugar content of the LIVAGO variety make it a popular choice for cultivation in various agro-climatic conditions, ensuring a stable and quality harvest.
