Description DZ 3 HO 2
Sugar beet variety DZ 3 HO 2 represents a unique Ukrainian product with a cylindrical root of large size, an average weight of about 700 grams, and a medium maturity period. The plant is characterized by a semi-spreading leaf rosette with a medium, solid, and moderately wavy leaf blade. The root system is taproot, penetrating to a depth of 2-2.5 meters, which contributes to drought and cold resistance. The vegetative period lasts up to 120 days, and the root is deeply buried in the soil with a relatively smooth surface, which facilitates harvesting and reduces soil adhesion.

This variety is distinguished by high resistance to major sugar beet diseases, such as cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and root rot, which enhances crop reliability and reduces the need for intensive chemical protection. Sugar beet DZ 3 HO 2 contains a high sugar level reaching 18-20%, making it in demand both in the food industry and in technical sugar and syrup production.

The application of this variety is diverse: it is used in cuisine for preparing traditional dishes such as borscht and kvass, and also serves as a feed residue-free crop. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to consider optimal seed germination conditions at temperatures of 13-15°C and sufficient lighting, as a lack of light negatively affects sugar content and crop yield.
