Sorghum Sochatiy

Industrial-Grade Grain Quality

The «Sokhatyi» sorghum variety, developed by the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute (National Center for Seed Science and Cultivar Research), is engineered specifically for industrial processing. Unlike typical grain or forage hybrids, this variety is optimized for starch and ethanol production, making it a reliable choice for farmers supplying high-demand industrial sectors.

Practical Field Application

For agricultural producers, «Sokhatyi» represents a shift toward specialized crop management. Its value lies in consistent technical performance rather than just raw biomass volume. Key strategies for successful cultivation include:

• Water Management: The variety exhibits high drought tolerance, a critical asset for regions with variable precipitation. Its root system efficiently utilizes soil moisture reserves during the critical flowering phase.
• Seeding Timing: To ensure uniform emergence, sowing should occur only when soil temperatures reach +12-14°C. Proper field preparation is essential to maximizing the variety's potential yield.
• Harvest Efficiency: «Sokhatyi» is noted for its even crop maturity. This uniformity significantly simplifies direct combining, reducing mechanical losses and minimizing the moisture content that often plagues less stable varieties at harvest.

By opting for «Sokhatyi», producers align their operations with the specific requirements of the processing industry. It offers a predictable output profile that simplifies contracts with starch mills and processors, ensuring the crop meets the technical benchmarks needed for premium valuation.
