DERZHAVNOYE is an early-maturing grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) hybrid intended for grain cultivation. The grain of this hybrid has an oval, elliptical shape with a semi-glassy endosperm structure and a light yellow color. The hybrid is characterized by high yield, which in the Middle Volga region reached an average of 17 centners per hectare, confirming its adaptability and efficiency under the conditions of this region.
Sorghum is one of the most important cereal crops, widely used in various parts of the world for food, feed, and industrial purposes. The crop is characterized by high plasticity and the ability to adapt to adverse soil and climatic conditions, which is manifested at all stages of plant growth and development. In the flowering phase, which occurs approximately two days after booting and is noted when 50% of plants are flowering, sorghum growth practically ceases, and during this period the plant uses about 60% of the necessary nutrients, including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
In addition, sorghum is considered one of the most effective energy crops due to high yield and a variety of ways of use. It is used to produce biofuels, feed, and organic fertilizers. Sweet sorghum provides a high yield of sugar, green and dry mass, which is used to produce ethanol, butanol, biogas, and organic fertilizers. The crop tolerates drought and high temperatures well, contributes to reducing soil salinization and improving their quality, which makes it promising for sustainable agriculture.
