Sorghum Triostiy

"Troistyi": A Versatile Choice from Ukrainian Selection

The "Troistyi" sorghum variety represents the expertise of the Institute of Grain Crops of the NAAS of Ukraine. Developed to thrive in the steppe and forest-steppe climatic zones, this variety has established itself as a reliable workhorse for farmers who prioritize versatility and resilience over high-input, sensitive hybrids.

Agronomic Profile

With a vegetation period of 120–130 days, "Troistyi" is perfectly suited for regions where heat and moisture efficiency are paramount. The variety is characterized by:

• Dual-purpose functionality: Optimized for both grain harvesting and high-quality hay or green forage production.
• Field resilience: Strong tolerance to local soil stressors and typical agricultural pests.
• Operational efficiency: Balanced growth habit that makes harvesting predictable and straightforward.

Positioned as a practical solution for diversified farms, "Troistyi" provides management flexibility. If grain market prices are unfavorable, the crop can seamlessly transition into a livestock feed asset, offering a high-energy silage or hay option. This adaptability is the hallmark of a variety designed to secure farm income regardless of seasonal fluctuations.

Why choose this variety?

The reputation of "Troistyi" is built on the foundation of consistent performance without the need for extreme agronomic intervention. It serves as an excellent option for farmers looking for a low-risk, proven variety that aligns with local soil types. By choosing this Ukrainian-bred variety, growers invest in years of regional selection experience that guarantees steady yields and reliable quality.
