Anniversary is a mid-season sorghum x drummondii hybrid, recommended for cultivation in the Republic of Crimea and included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region. The vegetation period until full grain maturity is 105-110 days, and plants reach a height of 238-250 cm. The plant is upright and compact, with high tillering — from 10 to 18 stems per plant. The stem is succulent, the plant tillers well, does not lodge, and regrows quickly after cutting.
The hybrid is distinguished by high productivity: the average yield of green mass is about 588.5 centners/ha, and hay — 160.4 centners/ha. Green mass contains 12.8-13.5% protein, making this variety a valuable forage crop. The first cut occurs 50-55 days after emergence, the second and third cuts occur with intervals of 35-40 days after the previous cut. The variety is resistant to head diseases, relatively resistant to aphids and bacterial diseases, and also exhibits high drought tolerance.
The sorghum x drummondii hybrid Anniversary is suitable for cultivation in dry climates and various soils, making it a versatile and reliable choice for forage production. Thanks to its high productivity and resistance to adverse factors, it ensures a stable supply of high-quality green mass and hay, which is important for livestock and agriculture as a whole.
