KWS NEMESIS — this is a mid-maturing sorghum-sudan grass hybrid intended for grain production, recommended for the North Caucasus region (6th region). It is characterized by high yield potential due to its prolonged grain-filling period and medium-high growth rate. Plants reach a height of about 130 cm, have medium branching intensity, and bear semi-open panicles 28-30 cm long. Grain is reddish-brown cream-colored, with 1000-grain weight ranging from 30-36 g, and protein content between 12-13%.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to all major sorghum diseases, ensuring stable yields even under stress conditions. Low tannin content in the grain is a key advantage for using KWS NEMESIS in feed purposes, enhancing feed quality and digestibility. Average grain yield is approximately 30.7 ц/ha with a 9.6% increase over the standard, with maximum yields reaching 76.4 ц/ha in favorable conditions.
For sowing, select the time when soil temperature at a depth of 10 cm reaches +14°C. Seed depth is 3-5 cm. Sowing rate varies depending on growing conditions: 150-180 thousand seeds per hectare in dry conditions, 230-250 thousand in normal conditions, and 270-330 thousand under irrigation. This sowing approach promotes optimal plant development and high yield.
