Anadol – a mid-season sorghum hybrid developed by Advanta. The variety is characterized by high yield, cold hardiness at early growth stages, and resistance to drought, lodging, and various pests, including biotype C aphids, sorghum midge, charcoal rot, flying head smut, and downy mildew. Plants reach a height of 90–105 cm, have productive tillering from 2‑3 stems, and semi-open panicles. Red-colored grain contains up to 13% protein and up to 76% starch; tannins are absent.
Maturation periods are 115–120 days, allowing for sowing planning in late April–May when soil temperature is not below 12 °C. For optimal yield, it is recommended to sow on fields with pesticide residue accumulation after using herbicides based on imazamox or imazapyr, and to follow recommended sowing densities: south – 100–120 thousand grains/ha, center – 120–140 thousand, north – 140–160 thousand, adhering to recommendations.
Anadol is suitable for food, feed, and alcoholic beverage production. The 1000-grain mass is approximately 28 g, packaging is done in paper sacks. Yield in Ukraine can reach over 8 t/ha, with growth potential exceeding twice that of traditional varieties. The variety is accompanied by technological support from agronomists and tested for germination and seedling vigor, ensuring stable results under various climatic conditions in Ukraine.
