Sorghum Albita

Field Performance of Albita Grain Sorghum

When selecting a hybrid for a grain operation, reliability is the key factor. Alfaseed’s Albita proves to be a balanced and predictable choice for modern farmers. With a plant height of 90-100 cm, it fits perfectly with standard combine header setups, meaning there is no need for time-consuming equipment adjustments during the peak harvesting season.

Efficiency and Crop Quality

The main advantage of Albita from an operational standpoint is its straightforward management. It is a robust Hungarian variety that handles common stresses well. For feed purposes, the quality is exceptional: the grain is free of tannins, which simplifies processing, while the starch content of 70-80% makes it a high-energy component for livestock rations.

• Disease Resistance: The crop is naturally resilient against Anthracnose and head smut. This significantly lowers the need for intensive fungicide applications, saving both input costs and field time.
• Harvesting: The white grain color provides excellent visual cues for monitoring harvest progress. The crop matures uniformly, allowing for cleaner cutting and minimizing header losses.
• Operational Simplicity: Being a Hungarian-bred variety, it is well-adapted to varied soil conditions. It shows excellent seedling vigor, meaning it establishes quickly and outcompetes weeds effectively.

If you value equipment-friendly crops that deliver consistent yields with minimal overhead, Albita is an excellent fit. It provides high-quality, high-starch grain that is easy to manage from sowing to storage.
