Albita Sorghum is a high-yielding hybrid of grain sorghum with white kernels, developed by breeders in the USA and offered by the European company Alta Seeds. This variety features an improved kernel composition with a high starch content—about 75-80%—making it suitable for use in the food industry. The absence of tannins and the pure white color of the kernels expand the application possibilities of Albita in various food products.
Albita sorghum plants reach a height of up to 90 cm and demonstrate high resistance to temperature fluctuations, allowing successful cultivation of this variety under different climatic conditions and on various soil types. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits good resistance to diseases such as anthracnose and powdery mildew, contributing to stable yields and reduced losses during cultivation.
