CODEXA — early hybrid sweet corn, intended for grain and silage cultivation. It features a vegetative period of approximately 115-116 days and high adaptability to various soil types, allowing successful cultivation across different regions, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. The plant reaches a height of about 300 cm, has a semi-erect leaf type of medium width, and strong anthocyanic coloring of the first leaf sheath. The hybrid exhibits good resistance to diseases such as bacterial blight, fusarium, and ear rot, as well as high drought and heat tolerance. The ear of CODEXA is relatively large, with a silvery-orange kernel arranged in 14-16 rows, each containing 28-32 kernels. The 1000-kernel weight ranges from 298 to 325 grams. Recommended planting density varies by region: 80-85 thousand plants per hectare in the steppe zone, up to 90-95 thousand in Polissia. Thanks to its good plasticity in harvest timing and high drought tolerance, the hybrid is especially effective when planted early, helping to avoid stressful conditions during flowering. The yield of CODEXA demonstrates stable performance: in the Sumy region in 2018, it reached 96.5 centners per hectare at 16% moisture, while in the Central Chernozem and Middle Volga regions, the average grain yield is around 70-76 centners per hectare, with maximum values up to 159 centners per hectare. These characteristics make the hybrid a universal and reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality yields under various climatic conditions.
