Sorghum R4452 is a promising grain sorghum hybrid with an early maturity period, developed in the USA and certified according to OECD standards. Plants of this hybrid differ by a relatively low height — from 1.0 to 1.1 meters, which facilitates cultivation and harvesting. The vegetative period is 100-105 days, allowing for harvest in a short time. The genetic feature of the hybrid is its ability to germinate in relatively cold soil, enabling early planting and effective moisture retention in the upper soil layers. The hybrid boasts a high yield potential — over 100 centners per hectare, making it attractive to agrarians. Plants are characterized by productive tillering of 2-3, and the mass of 1000 seeds is about 26 grams. The grain has an orange color, contains 13% protein and 74% starch, ensuring its wide application in the food industry, starch and alcohol production, as well as in animal feeding. Sorghum R4452 is distinguished by high resistance to drought, lodging, diseases, and pests, including aphid biotypes 'A' and 'C'. Thanks to increased cold hardiness at the initial development stages, the hybrid is successfully grown in a wide range of areas. The grain does not contain tannin, which improves its quality and nutritional value. The recommended seeding rate is 120-180 thousand seeds per hectare.
