MR Eclipse is a high-yielding, early-maturing hybrid of red sorghum, distinguished by its high productivity and adaptability to various climatic conditions, including all regions of Ukraine. It exhibits enhanced cold tolerance during early growth stages, enabling early planting, as well as high stress and drought resistance. The vegetation period until flowering ranges from 108–115 days, making it an optimal choice for rapid harvest. The hybrid features a semi-transparent panicle and productive tillering with 2–3 stems per plant. The grain of MR Eclipse is red in color and free of tannin, ensuring its safety and high nutritional value for feeding all types of livestock. The 1000-grain weight varies from 31 to 35 grams. The grain contains up to 76% starch and up to 11% protein on dry matter basis, making this hybrid particularly attractive for use in feed industries. Due to the absence of tannin, the grain has no negative effect on animal health, enhancing its efficiency in livestock feeding. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to major sorghum diseases and pests, including the C-type aphid, sorghum fly (MTR 6*), anthracnose, rust, and false powdery mildew. Additionally, MR Eclipse is resistant to lodging, which helps preserve harvest quality and simplifies harvesting. This variety is widely used not only in feed but also in food and distilling industries, confirming its versatility and economic efficiency.
