Variety distinguishing features. Variety — ukrainica. Plants height 70-80 cm, half-compressed form with thick central stem. Plant pubescence light-red, flowers purple, seeds spherical, light-yellow, hilum dark-brown with eye, 1000 seed mass — 150-160 g.
Biological features. The variety belongs to the medium-maturing group with a vegetation period of 110-115 days, has increased drought resistance, resistant to lodging (8.0-9.0 points), seed shattering (8.0-9.0 points), pathogens and pests (8.0 points), suitable for mechanical harvesting.
Agricultural features. Recommended seeding rate 0.6-0.7 million germinating seeds per hectare. Seeding method — conventional row or wide-row (row spacing 45 cm). Agronomic practices are standard for the cultivation zone.
In the variety trial conducted by the Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev (2006-2008), the variety yielded 2.5 t/ha. In 2011, in the Kherson region (Institute of Irrigation Agriculture), the yield was 2.88 t/ha. The highest yield, achieved in 2009, was 3.23 t/ha, in 2010 — 3.74 t/ha (Kiliyska DSS of Odesa region), in 2011 — 3.63 t/ha (Kelmenska DSS of Chernivtsi region). Potential yield 3.7-3.9 t/ha, protein content in seeds — 39-40%, oil — 21-22%.
