Hippophae 'Zakharova's' is a high-yield variety developed at the Buryat State Planting and Selection Station (Buryat PIAO). Bushes reach a height of about 3.5 meters and have a spreading crown of medium density without thorns, which facilitates care and fruit harvesting. Fruits are medium-sized, round-oval, colored red or orange-red, juicy and aromatic, with a sweet-sour taste due to a balanced content of sugars and acids.
The variety is distinguished by high yield – up to 10.6 t/ha, as well as resistance to drought, frost, and diseases. Fruits retain their biologically active substances, including carotenoids and a complex of vitamins, making them a valuable product for canning and nutrition. Due to the large size of the fruits and dense flesh, they do not crush during harvesting, and the long pedicel facilitates manual labor.
'Zakharova's' grows well on sunny plots, withstands winter frosts, and requires a distance between bushes of about 4 meters. This makes the variety an ideal choice for gardening in Siberian regions, where stable fruiting and high yield are key factors in successful cultivation.
