Sea buckthorn AYULA

Technical Profile of the Ayula Sea Buckthorn

The 'Ayula' sea buckthorn variety, developed by FANTSA, represents a breeding success focused on balancing yield with high harvesting efficiency. The primary engineering feature of this variety is the genetic absence of thorns, which fundamentally changes the logistics of orchard management.

Agrotechnical Specifications

• Fruit Morphology: The average berry weight ranges from 0.5 to 0.7 grams. The vibrant orange hue indicates a high concentration of carotenoids, supporting the variety's classification as a versatile cultivar suitable for both fresh consumption and processing.
• Yield Capacity: Under standard agrotechnical conditions, the bush yields 5–7 kg of berries. The lack of thorns increases labor efficiency during harvesting by 30–40% compared to traditional thorny varieties.
• Structural Benefits: The thornless nature of the shoots eliminates skin injury risks during pruning and picking, simplifying canopy maintenance. Furthermore, the plant possesses distinct ornamental qualities, allowing for integration into both commercial plantations and landscape designs.

Opting for 'Ayula' is an investment in reducing operational costs. With a stable berry weight and predictable yield, the variety meets the requirements of both private gardens and commercial farms looking to optimize labor intensity and orchard ergonomics.
