Meadowsweet Mendoza is a uniform diploid cultivar of a grass crop, specifically developed for feed purposes and ensiling. The cultivar is distinguished by high dry matter yield and rapidly forms shoots already in the first year of sowing, which allows obtaining green mass throughout the season.
Mendoza is characterized by resistance to various climatic conditions: it grows well in both warm and cool climates. Seeds germinate at a temperature of 2‑4 °C, and plants can withstand frosts up to –4–5 °C. This makes the cultivar suitable for cultivation on a wide range of soils, including wet loams, peaty, and even slightly acidic soils.
The cultivar is suitable as a main feed crop and an intermediate one after grain harvest. Thanks to rapid regeneration after multiple mowing, Mendoza ensures a constant flow of green mass, increasing soil fertility and improving the growth of subsequent crops. High stability and resistance make it a valuable tool in agronomy and agriculture.
