Bakus is an Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum), a tetraploid variety with high productivity and excellent feed value. It grows quickly, reaching heights from 0.7 to 1.0 m, and is characterized by a high dry matter content, making it ideal for producing quality hay and green mass for silage.
The «Bakus» variety is particularly suitable for pastures within crop rotation, where it is often used in mixtures with clover. It recovers quickly after grazing and mechanical damage, thereby maintaining resistance to fungal diseases and low temperatures. As a result, farmers get a reliable energy source for animals and stable yields.
Ryegrass «Bakus» is distinguished by its high nutritional value: 100 kg of grass provides about 21–22 feed units, and in hay – up to 55 units. It grows both on tillable areas (3–5 years) and on pastures of more than 7 years, withstanding moderate shading. Thanks to its ability to regrow quickly after grazing or mowing, «Bakus» ensures a continuous feed flow for livestock.
