Talovskaya 44 is a winter rye variety characterized by mid-late maturation and dwarfism. It possesses enhanced winter hardiness and drought resistance at the level of standard requirements, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 25 to 34 grams, and the yield in recommended regions reaches 34.1 centners per hectare. The variety is moderately susceptible to brown rust, which requires attention to plant protection during the growing period.
Created in the winter rye selection laboratory of the V.V. Dokuchaev Voronezh State Agrarian University named after V.V. Dokuchaev, the Talovskaya 44 variety is distinguished by short stems and high resistance to lodging, which helps preserve the crop under unfavorable weather conditions. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is recommended for cultivation in several regions and republics of Russia, including the Penza region and the Republic of Tatarstan.
Winter rye, to which Talovskaya 44 belongs, is an important grain crop, especially in northern and central regions of the country, where it demonstrates high frost resistance and good drought resistance. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to sow seeds to a depth of no more than 5 cm, taking into account the formation of the tillering node at the soil surface. To increase yield, nitrogen fertilizers are applied in two stages—autumn and spring, which contributes to the full development of plants and the formation of a high yield.
