Variety-defining characteristics. Dent type (ssp. indentata). Plant height 230-250 cm. Ear attachment height 98-100 cm. Number of leaves 16. Ear length 22-24 cm. Row of kernels 16-18. Grain yield 84-85%. Ear stalk red or white. 1000 grain weight 300-310 g.
Biological characteristics. Mid-early maturity group FAO 290. Growth period from emergence to full maturity 110-112 days. Early growth rapid. Cold resistance high. Drought resistance high. Resistance to lodging high. Resistance to ear drooping high. Resistance to gray smut high. Resistance to southern rust high. Resistance to stalk rot high. Resistance to corn borer high.
Agronomic characteristics. Potential grain yield 10.5-11.0 t/ha. Recommended planting density for Forest-Steppe 60-62 thousand/ha and for Steppe 65-68 thousand/ha. Harvest moisture 27-28%. Potential green mass yield 43.0-45.0 t/ha. Dry matter content in green mass 30-32%. Protein content in grain 10.0%. Starch content 74.2%.
Hybrid seed production is conducted on sterile M-type basis according to full restoration scheme without ear removal. Sterility of maternal form 99-100%. Optimal planting scheme of parental forms on hybridization plots 12:4, 6:2. Yield of conditioned seeds under high agronomic practices reaches 2.5-3.0 t/ha.
