Description

Kubata is a domestic late-season strawberry (clouberry) variety, distinguished by large, glossy berries with a characteristic ridge-like shape. The berries have dense, low-moisture flesh in an orange-red color with a pleasant sweet-sour taste and aroma. The mass of berries in the first harvest reaches 24 grams, while subsequent harvests exceed 19 grams. The variety is for universal use, suitable for fresh consumption and freezing. The flowers are large, white, bisexual, with long, angular, and thick peduncles, many-flowered inflorescences located above the leaves.

Bushes are medium-sized, spreading or slightly spreading, with large dark green dense leaves. The plant forms many thick runners weakly colored with anthocyanin. Kubata has high winter hardiness and drought resistance, and also demonstrates good resistance to diseases and pests. The average yield of the variety exceeds 132 centners per hectare, which makes it attractive to gardeners and farmers.

For successful cultivation, it is recommended to plant Kubata on well-lit, flat or slightly sloping areas with neutral or weak loamy soils and a groundwater depth of no more than 60 centimeters. Planting is carried out in early spring or in August-September, while seedlings should have a developed fibrous root system. After planting, plants are moderately watered and mulched with well-rotted manure. The variety is propagated mainly by runners, rarely by seeds or by dividing old bushes.
