Description Kimberly
The 'Kimberly' strawberry variety is an early-ripening hybrid from Dutch breeding, obtained by crossing the varieties Gorella and Chandler. This variety features large berries weighing about 20 grams, with a wide conical shape and bright red color with a glossy sheen. The berries have a sweet flavor with a distinct caramel note, thanks to high natural sugar content, while maintaining a good sugar-to-acidity ratio, making the taste refreshing and not cloying.

The 'Kimberly' plants are small, spreading, and vigorous with tall, sturdy flowering stems, which keeps the berries off the ground. The leaves are light green with moderate leafiness, and the flower clusters are positioned at leaf level or slightly below. The variety exhibits high winter hardiness, drought and heat tolerance, as well as resistance to major strawberry diseases, including powdery mildew and spotting. The plant has moderate suckering, which simplifies care and propagation.

'Kimberly' is characterized by high yield — up to 150 centners per hectare or 1-2 kilograms per plant. Fruit ripening begins as late as late May, allowing gardeners to harvest an early crop. The variety is low-maintenance and tolerates temperature fluctuations, making it suitable for various climatic conditions. Due to its flavor, disease resistance, and high yield, 'Kimberly' is an excellent choice for cultivation both in home gardens and commercial plantations.
