Description Buffalo
Rapeseed variety Buffalo is a high-yielding spring barley of Canadian origin, intended for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including the Forest Steppe, Polissia, and Steppe. This variety is characterized by early maturity with a vegetation period of 87-95 days and plant height of 60-80 cm. It has a two-row ear with up to 15 spikelets, contributing to high yields reaching 81-82 c/ha in real Ukrainian conditions, with a potential yield of up to 10 t/ha. Protein content in the grain is approximately 16%, which is an important quality indicator.

Buffalo is characterized by high resistance to adverse environmental factors and diseases. The variety demonstrates excellent drought resistance (8 points) and genetic immunity to major barley diseases such as powdery mildew, brown rust, septoria, and fusarium, with a disease resistance rating of 9 points. It is also resistant to lodging, germination issues, soil salinity, and spring temperature fluctuations, tolerates frosts and late frosts, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions.

To achieve maximum productivity, it is recommended to use intensive cultivation technologies with a seeding rate of 3-3.5 million seeds per hectare. Seeds are supplied in packages of 1000 kg and require storage at +7-10°С and humidity not exceeding 10%. The Buffalo variety can be cultivated for up to five consecutive years under proper agronomic practices, making it a profitable and sustainable solution for agricultural enterprises.
