Crome

Crome — this is a powerful winter rapeseed hybrid, distinguished by rapid spring growth, which allows efficient use of moisture and ensures high productivity. This hybrid belongs to the intensive type, has an early-maturing maturity group with a vegetative period of about 300-305 days. It is characterized by high drought resistance, winter hardiness, and resistance to lodging and shattering, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions in Ukraine, including the Polissia, Steppe, and Forest-Steppe regions. The yield potential of Crome reaches 71 centners/ha, and the average yield based on trial results is approximately 50-52 centners/ha.

Morphological characteristics of the hybrid include a 1000-seed mass ranging from 4.2 to 4.8 grams and plant height around 176 cm. Oil content in the seeds reaches 47.5%, while levels of glucosinolates and erucic acid remain low, positively affecting product quality. The hybrid is resistant to most common rapeseed diseases, including phomopsis, black leg, downy mildew, sclerotinia, and bacterial blight, as confirmed by high resistance ratings on the 8-10 scale. Additionally, Crome is resistant to herbicides in the imidazolinone group, facilitating weed control.

Recommendations for cultivation include a sowing rate of 350,000 to 500,000 seeds per hectare. The hybrid is suitable for conventional cultivation techniques and tolerates late sowing due to its high spring regenerative capacity. Treating seeds with fungicides and insecticides increases plant resistance to pests and diseases. Crome is an optimal choice for farmers seeking a stable and high yield of winter rapeseed with quality oil and resistance to adverse conditions.
