Description Expo
Red Cress Expo F1 is an early-maturing hybrid of the "French Breakfast" type, developed by leading European seed companies Hazera and Vilmorin. The vegetative period of this hybrid ranges from 18 to 25 days, allowing for early harvest both in open ground and under plastic coverings. Red Cress is highly stress-resistant, capable of tolerating low temperatures and insufficient light without growth delays, making it versatile for cultivation under various climatic conditions throughout the season. The Expo cress fruits are cylindrical, measuring 5–7 cm in length and 3–4 cm in diameter. Their color is dark red with a characteristic white tip, occupying approximately one-quarter of the root's length. The flesh is snowy white, dense, and uniform, not prone to forming hollows. The taste is refreshing, very juicy with a slight spiciness, making them ideal for fresh consumption and home cooking. The plant's leafy part is dark green and reaches a length of about 15 cm. The Expo hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases such as fusarium, powdery mildew, leaf spot, and various types of rot. Yield ranges from 3.5 to 4.5 kg per square meter at a seeding rate of 230–270 seeds per square meter. The fruits withstand transportation and short-term storage well, retaining their appearance and gloss after washing. All these qualities make Red Cress Expo F1 an excellent choice for obtaining early and high-quality produce.
