Description Baron
BARON is a mid-season variety of red salad red onion from Bejo Zaden. The vegetative period lasts about 90–130 days depending on growing conditions. This variety is adapted to various climatic conditions and soil types, resistant to spring frosts, drought, and not susceptible to diseases such as fusarium, downy mildew, and root rot. Red onion BARON is suitable for growing in open ground and demonstrates stable yield with proper care, including crop rotation, watering, and fertilization.

The bulbs have an oval-flattened shape, are dense and solid, with attractive purple-red coloring of the upper scales. The weight of one bulb varies from 70 to 150 grams. The inside of the onion is tender, crunchy and juicy, white-pink in color with purple-red veins. The variety is distinguished by a pleasant sweet taste with minimal bitterness, making it ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for thermal processing, pickling, drying and canning.

Red onion BARON is valued for the high quality of the fruit, their stable commercial appearance and excellent taste characteristics. The onion is well preserved after harvesting, while the coloring does not stain the knife or other components of salads. Due to its properties and versatility of application, this variety is widely used in cooking for preparing various dishes.
