The Mulatka radish is a mid-season, high-yielding variety intended for growing in open ground throughout the season. The rootstocks of this variety are round, smooth, with a bright purple or purple coloration, weighing from 17 to 25 grams. They are characterized by uniformity in shape and size, do not crack, and have a thin tail. The flesh is white, dense, juicy and crunchy, slightly spicy and piquant, has a refreshing taste and does not lose its freshness for long, does not become flabby after harvest.
The Mulatka variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 2.5-2.7 kg per square meter, as well as drought resistance and lack of bolting. Rootcrop ripening occurs synchronously, on average 20-23 days after germination, which allows for continuous harvest with repeated sowings at intervals of two weeks until mid-August. For optimal growth, sowing in open ground is recommended at the end of April – early May at a depth of about 2 cm with a distance of 3-4 cm between plants.
Mulatka radish is widely used in cooking thanks to its original coloration and excellent taste qualities. It is ideal for preparing salads, vegetable assortments, as well as for decorating cold appetizers and meat dishes. The autumn crop is stored well for up to a month and a half, which allows its use in fresh form for a long time. The variety is undemanding and plastic to growing conditions, which makes it attractive for gardeners and farmers.
