Aiva of the 'Studentka' variety — a new Ukrainian high-yielding variety developed by breeder S.V. Klimenko. The tree is strongly-growing with a broad pyramidal crown, characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to diseases of fruit trees. The flowering period is average, and fruiting begins on the fourth year after planting. It is recommended to grow on sunny sites protected from wind, with an optimal planting scheme of 3x4 meters and planting hole size of 60x60x60 cm. The 'Studentka' variety fruits are large, weighing from 260 to 300 grams, apple-shaped with slight asymmetry and smooth thin skin. During the ripening period, which falls in mid- to late September, the fruit color changes from intense green to bright yellow, sometimes with a delicate, blurred blush. The flesh is dense, juicy, yellow-cream or white-cream in color, with a slightly bitter-sweet taste and a spicy muscat aftertaste. It has medium density, uniformity, and absence of hard lumps, as well as a very aromatic quality. One of the key advantages of this variety is excellent fruit storage: fruits can be stored under normal conditions without darkening and retain their flavor qualities for up to 5-6 months, and in a refrigerator — until March. Due to its high transportability and disease resistance, 'Studentka' aiva is suitable for both fresh consumption, as well as for canning and drying.
