The 'Gift for Grandchild' pear variety is a medium-sized fruit tree with a wide-pyramidal crown and straight, dark-gray branches, reaching up to 3.5 meters in height. The tree is highly frost-resistant and disease-resistant, making it suitable for cultivation in both private gardens and on an industrial scale. Flowers are pale-pink, blooming in early May, while fruits ripen by late September to early October. Trees begin to bear fruit fully from the 4th to 5th year after planting, and with proper care, can yield 50 to 90 kilograms per mature tree. The 'Gift for Grandchild' pear fruits are large, oval-cylindrical, with smooth, thin, bright-yellow skin with a slight gloss. Average fruit weight ranges from 230 to 300 grams, occasionally reaching 400 grams. The flesh is creamy-colored, fine-grained, dense, and juicy, with a tart-sweet flavor and a spicy nutmeg aftertaste, accompanied by a pleasant aroma. The fruits exhibit high commercial quality and good transportability. They are suitable for fresh consumption and are widely used for home preserves such as jams and compotes. The variety is distinguished by its unique storability: fruits can be stored without refrigeration in a cellar or other cool place until February–March, ensuring a prolonged harvest period. The pear is partially self-pollinating, but fruit yield significantly increases with the presence of pollinators. Annual pruning is necessary to form fruits, as fruiting occurs on current-year growths. High levels of dry matter, sugars, pectins, tannins, and carotene make this variety not only delicious but also nutritious.
