Aromatic Crimson Quince is a medium-sized variety with a fruit-like shape, weighing from 250 to 310 grams. The skin is light yellow, smooth and slightly waxy, with a surface that can be slightly bumpy. The flesh is homogeneous, stone-free, light cream-colored, juicy and aromatic, with a characteristic sour taste that intensifies by the end of September.
The tree is of medium height, reaching 3–3.5 meters, with a compact, dense crown. It is a self-fertile variety, grows fast and starts bearing fruit already in the fourth-fifth year after planting. Aromatic Crimson Quince prefers sunny locations protected from strong winds, as it is heat-loving.
Fruits ripen at the end of September – beginning of October; the technological maturity period is 10–15 days. They are suitable for both fresh consumption and home preserves: jams, compotes, jellies and other products. Thanks to their bright color and pleasant aroma, they can also be used without peeling during processing.
