Pumpkin HONEY CAKE PUMPKIN

A Practical Choice for Small-Scale Farming

The 'Medovyj Pirog' (Honey Pie) pumpkin from Gavrish is a reliable variety for those prioritizing stable yields and excellent storage life. Given its indeterminate vine growth, this variety requires ample space, but it compensates with predictable results: fruits weighing 3–5 kg are perfectly sized for the needs of an average household.

In the Garden: Cultivation and Scenarios

The primary use case for this variety is outdoor cultivation in patches or along fences where the vines can spread freely. Growers favor 'Medovyj Pirog' for its low-maintenance requirements. The round shape of the fruits makes logistics easier, as they pack well during transport from the field to storage without the need for specialized crates.

Storage and Culinary Application

The standout feature of this variety is its exceptional storage capability. For those planning to keep a supply of produce through the winter until spring, this variety is a robust choice. The dense texture of the flesh makes it versatile for various culinary tasks, from preparing porridge and desserts to processing into juices or freezing into cubes. The 3–5 kg fruit size is considered the 'gold standard'—it is convenient to process in one sitting without the concern of leftovers spoiling in the refrigerator.
