Shakherezada

The Sherazade pumpkin variety is a vigorous trailing plant up to 400 cm long, requiring sturdy support for vertical greening. This variety is distinguished by its decorative fruits of various colors, star-shaped, which serve as a magnificent ornament for various compositions in a dried state. The plant is heat-loving, prefers sunny places with fertile, loose soils, needs abundant watering and responds positively to fertilization. Sowing seeds is recommended in March-April in peat pots, and seedlings to be transplanted to the open ground in early June at a distance of 20-30 cm between plants.

The Sherazade variety is high-yielding and late-maturing, with a maturation period of 125-135 days from germination to harvest. Fruits reach lengths of 50-60 cm and weight of 6-8 kg, and with good care can grow up to 10-13 kg. The skin of the fruits is flexible, the seed cavity is small, and the flesh is thick, dense, crunchy, and juicy with an orange color and a very aromatic sweet taste. The carotene content in the flesh is elevated, which makes this variety particularly beneficial.

The Sherazade pumpkin is versatile in application: its fruits are consumed fresh in salads, as well as after thermal processing for preparing side dishes, purée, porridge, desserts, and pie fillings. The variety is drought-resistant and has increased resistance to low temperatures and adverse weather conditions. Fruits store well until February, at which time the skin changes color to orange. Yield is 6-7 kg per square meter.
