SPAKER is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with a medium-early maturity period and a vegetation period of 74-86 days. The plant is tall, of medium height, with a pyramidal, loose ear of medium density in white color. The variety is distinguished by good drought resistance and lodging resistance at the standard level, as well as resistance to powdery scab and moderate resistance to powdery mildew. The mass of 1000 grains is 39-48 grams. Baking qualities of the variety are good, making it attractive for agricultural production. Average yield in the Western Siberia region reaches 36.3 c/ha, while the maximum yield of 70.5 c/ha was recorded in the Tomsk region in 2022. Additionally, under the name SPAKER, an insecticide is released — a two-component contact-intestinal agent of neurotoxic action, intended for the protection of wheat and barley crops from various pests. The active substances of the preparation are dimethoate (300 g/l) and beta-cypermethrin (40 g/l), which in synergy ensure a fast and powerful effect on the nervous system of insects. Dimethoate inhibits acetylcholinesterase, disrupting the transmission of nerve impulses, while beta-cypermethrin causes excessive excitation and death of pests due to the disruption of sodium and potassium exchange. Such a combination of organophosphorus compounds and pyrethroids ensures stable control even in the presence of potential resistance in pests. The insecticide SPAKER is used to combat thrips, the brown mite, grain borers, cereal aphids, and cicadids. The recommended application rate for wheat is 0.15–0.5 l/ha, and for barley — 0.15–0.2 l/ha. The preparation is effective at air temperatures from +12 to +22 °C and wind speed up to 2–3 m/s, and its protective action is maintained for up to 16 days. It is released in the form of an emulsion concentrate in 5-liter packaging.
