Tereya Odeska — a high-yield winter soft wheat variety, recommended for cultivation in all agro-climatic zones of Ukraine, including Steppe, Forest Steppe, and Polissia. This variety belongs to the group of strong wheats and is a type of erythrospermum. It is characterized by high adaptability, ensuring stable yields even under variable and unfavorable growing conditions, as well as good tolerance to late sowing. The vegetation period lasts from 275 to 287 days, and plant height is 95-108 cm. The ear is pyramid-shaped, medium to long, with a white or bronze hue after ripening, and the grain is red, medium-sized, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 40.8 to 52 grams. The variety exhibits high frost and winter hardiness (9 points), as well as drought and heat resistance (9 points). It is resistant to lodging, shattering, and grain germination on the ear, which improves yield quality and preservation. Resistance to fungal diseases is rated at 8-9 points, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. Tereya Odeska responds well to nitrogen fertilizers and is suitable for cultivation under both conventional and intensive technologies, including irrigation. The variety’s productivity is high: the maximum yield recorded during state trials reached 103.7 c/ha, while under intensive technologies, it reached 115-120 c/ha. Protein content in the grain is 12.5-14.0%, gluten content — 26.0-30.5%, providing flour strength of 363-475 units. Flour yield reaches 73%, and overall bread quality rating — 4.7-5.0 points, indicating high product quality. Thanks to these characteristics, Tereya Odeska is a promising variety for producing high-quality bread-making wheat.
