NALCHIKSKY

The Nalchiksky potato variety is a medium-early table variety with a maturation period of 80-95 days. Tubers are elongated-oval, with light beige skin and creamy flesh, weighing 81-90 grams. Starch content varies between 16.8-23.2%, providing good flavor and versatility in cooking. This variety is suitable for baking, boiling, and making mashed potatoes, belonging to the culinary type CD. The number of tubers per plant ranges from 9-12, contributing to high commercial yield.

The yield of the Nalchiksky variety reaches 123-170 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 330 centners, matching the standard of the Aurora variety. The plant is semi-upright with dark green, medium-sized leaves and slightly wavy edges. Tubers have a commercial quality of 74-90%, and storability reaches 93%, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss.

The variety exhibits high resistance to several diseases, including potato blight, late blight of foliage and tubers, and mosaic virus. However, it is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode. Nalchiksky is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region and was developed by the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences". Due to its characteristics and resistance, this variety is a reliable choice for agricultural production.
