IGNIV

The potato variety Igniv is an early-maturing table variety of Russian selection with a maturation period of 65-75 days, during which the first harvest can be taken as early as day 45 after emergence. The plant is of medium height, intermediate type, semi-upright, with leaves of medium to large size and slightly wavy margins. The flower bud is red-purple. Tubers are oval-round with medium-depth eyes, smooth and red skin, creamy flesh. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 99 to 224 grams, and starch content is 12.5-17.2%.

The variety has high and stable yield: marketable yield reaches 205-356 centners per hectare, maximum yield may reach 433 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding standard varieties. The first harvest on day 45 after emergence provides yield of 158-226 centners per hectare, which exceeds standards. Tubers’ marketability is 80-96%, and storability is 95%, indicating good product preservation and quality.

The variety has good consumer qualities, including excellent taste and cooking type BC, making it suitable for boiling, frying, and baking. Igniv is resistant to potato cancer pathogen and tuber-resistant to late blight, but susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and blight-susceptible foliage. These characteristics make the variety attractive for cultivation in various regions with appropriate agronomic measures for plant protection.
