Raja potato variety is a mid-season variety with a maturation period of 80-85 days. The tubers of this variety are large, oval-shaped, weighing from 135 to 300 grams. The skin is smooth and red, while the flesh is yellow. The variety is characterized by moderate starch content (13.4-15.7%), making it moderately soft and tasty when cooked. Raja is well-suited for cultivation on sandy soils, and the tubers have medium-depth eyes, facilitating handling and planting.
This potato variety exhibits high resistance to late blight affecting both tubers and leaves, as well as mechanical damage. However, it is weakly resistant to scab. The yield is high, reaching 230 to 520 centners per hectare, with harvests of up to 460 kg per hundred square meters. Raja potato was developed by Dutch breeders and adapted for cultivation in Russia. For successful cultivation, maintaining optimal soil temperature around +8°C at planting depth, along with regular watering, fertilization, and hilling, is required.
To enhance yield and product quality, it is recommended to use complex fertilizers such as Nutriwant Plus Kartoplya, containing water-soluble phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, boron, manganese, and zinc. These fertilizers increase yield by 10-15%, enhance potato resistance to stress and diseases, and provide long-lasting effects without leaching for 15-20 days.
