Symfonia

The potato variety Symfonia is a medium-late table variety developed by HZPC Holland B.V. in the Netherlands and approved for use in Russia since 1996. The plant is upright and tall, and the tubers have an oval shape with smooth red skin and small eyes. The flesh is yellow and does not darken when cut, preserving an attractive appearance during cooking. The average weight of marketable tubers ranges from 40 to 139 grams, making it suitable for various culinary purposes.

The Symfonia variety is characterized by high yield, which in state trials ranges from 200 to 460 centners per hectare, and under optimal conditions may reach up to 612 centners per hectare. The tuber marketability is within the range of 81-92%, indicating high product quality. The starch content in tubers ranges from 13% to 19%, ensuring good taste and versatility in culinary use. The potato is suitable for preparing various table dishes and is valued for its pleasant taste and texture.

The Symfonia variety exhibits resistance to several diseases, including potato cancer and golden nematode, as well as moderate resistance to common scab. However, it is susceptible to phytophthora, requiring careful care and preventive measures. For successful cultivation, thorough soil preparation with fertilization, plowing, and harrowing is recommended, as the variety is quite demanding in terms of soil fertility. Due to its characteristics, Symfonia is suitable for both experienced farmers and novice gardeners, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.
