Rainbow potato is a medium-maturing table variety with a vegetation period of 80-85 days. The plant is low-growing, intermediate type, with upright or semi-upright stems. Leaves are medium to large, green, with a large flower crown lacking or having very weak anthocyanic coloring on the inner side. Tubers are oval-shaped, with very small or medium-depth eyes, covered with yellow skin, and flesh with a dark-yellow hue. The weight of a single marketable tuber ranges from 111 to 217 grams, ensuring high marketability and product appeal. The variety is characterized by high yield, ranging from 162 to 442 centners per hectare, which is 23-155 centners higher than the Aurora standard, with a maximum yield of 479 centners per hectare, exceeding the Karuzo standard in Samara Oblast by 252 centners. Starch content in tubers is 17.4%, contributing to good taste and excellent culinary qualities. The variety’s marketability reaches 88%, and storability — 94%, making it convenient for storage and transportation. Rainbow potato is resistant to mechanical damage, allowing its use for washing and packaging. A special advantage of the variety is high resistance to potato cancer pathogen and golden potato cyst nematode, ensuring stable yields and reducing loss risks. Due to its characteristics, the Rainbow variety is suitable for wide application in the food industry and household use, providing a quality, tasty product with good storability.
