Argo potato is a table variety of medium-late maturity, characterized by stable and high yield. The plant has an intermediate type with semi-upright or upright growth, leaves of medium to large size, green to dark green, and violet-blue flower buds with intense anthocyanin coloring. Tubers are predominantly oval-round or elongated, with small eyes of medium depth, skin may be red or yellow, and flesh cream or light-yellow. Marketable tuber mass varies from 83 to 129 grams, starch content ranges from 11.3% to 16.7%, ensuring good taste and versatility in culinary use, including salads, soups, frying, and baking.

The variety shows high marketability (80% to 95%) and good storability (90% to 97%), allowing tubers to be stored for a long time without quality loss. Argo potato yield reaches 158–236 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 631 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding standards of other varieties. The plant tolerates high temperatures and drought, making it suitable for various climatic conditions.

Argo potato exhibits resistance to potato cancer pathogen and golden potato cyst nematode, enhancing its reliability in cultivation. However, the variety is moderately susceptible to late blight on foliage and tubers, and susceptible to common scab. Due to its characteristics, including nematode resistance, stable yield, and high marketability, Argo is a valuable choice for farmers and those seeking quality potatoes.
