Prolisok (Velvet)

The potato variety 'Prolisok' is a mid-early variety developed at the Ukrainian Potato Research Institute. It is intended for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the Ural, West Siberian, and Far Eastern regions. Plants of this variety have upright, compact, medium-height bushes, which facilitate care and harvest. Potato tubers are short-oval in shape, cream-colored, weighing 84–110 grams, ensuring ease of use and good marketability.

The variety is characterized by stable high yields, reaching 3.6–3.8 kg per square meter, as well as good storability, allowing potatoes to be stored for a long time without loss of quality. 'Prolisok' has excellent taste qualities, making it suitable for various culinary purposes. Additionally, this potato tolerates dry weather, expanding its cultivation possibilities in areas with limited moisture.

Among the variety's features, resistance to potato cancer and golden potato nematode should be noted, which reduces the risk of yield losses due to these diseases. However, the variety is susceptible to late blight, common scab, and macrosporiosis, so preventive measures and plant protection must be taken during cultivation. Overall, 'Prolisok' is a reliable and productive potato variety suitable for various regions and growing conditions.
